Quickpage template Freebie

Well, I haven't blogged in years (mainly because I've been busy studying for my degree), but today I made a quick page template for you.

It comes in PSD format and is free. Designing's not quite my forte, but I do enjoy making layouts.

Simply replace these elements with parts from your bought kits to make a lovely layout, and please feel free to send me your links. I'd love to see what you've created with this.

A Facebook freebie

Well, I had a Facebook page before but I had a few problems with someone on my personal page (long story), and deleted the lot, but I'm back now, and not only have I got a brand new Facebook page - I've made my very first template:
I also made a layout from it (to check it worked out alright - and it did - once I deleted the other two circles I'd originally put into it).

Here's the layout I made using Acorn Design's 'Billy Joe Scarecrow'.

I'm probably biased of course, but I thought it came out quite nice.

Anyway, enough of the waffle - if you would like this template (and I hope you do), you can get it by visiting my new Facebook page (the link with take you to the page where you can choose to like me - or not).

More template layouts

I made another layout today using a template from Creatively Obsessed Design's, this time I used 'Big Pics - Vol 1'.

I love using big photos in my layouts, although that's because I forget the actual size is 12x12 inches, anyway, for this layout I wanted the effect of my son expanding out of the 'frame'. I just love doing extractions, and when we're out and about these days I always keep this in mind and try to take 'action' photos.

The kit I used for this layout is 'Billy Joe Scarecrow' by Acorn Designs, it has some great elements in there but I went for the minimalistic look on this one, but take a look at the preview, it's so cute (and you can click the image to visit the desginer's store);

Here's my layout anyway

Creatively Obsessed Designs

I've been accepted on another Creative Team and it's very exciting: Creatively Obsessed Designs makes the most gorgeous templates.

I joined in time to participate in Berry Sweet Scrap's October Template challenge and  used the free template to create this:

The kit I used was 'Indian Summer' (Aquarius) as I think the colours are just gorgeous, and I love the look of all those dried autum-y flowers and leaves.

This template has three sections for photo's and I used them all to scrap my youngest son out playing, and although I've followed the template quite strictly for this one (with the exception of a few extra elements), you don't have to.

Templates are used as a start to creating those digital scrap-booking masterpieces, and for my next one I think I'll be a little more creative, but I wanted to share this one with you, and I wanted to thank Creatively Obsessed Designs for allowing me on her creative team.

If you would like to join the challenge this month, the template is free, and you can find it here: Berry Sweet Scraps.

Studio Design Contest Week 2

Somehow, not sure how, I got through to the second round (which is all I wanted to achieve at this stage so I'm happy now).

For week 2 we had to create our own palette with the theme 'Summer Afternoon', and as I'm English and love a cuppa on a hot day, I based it on that, although I really wanted to do a sort of tea at the ritz kit but I didn't have the time or resources to do that.

Anyway, here is what I came up with;Link

(I used the name I'm going to be designing with one day instead of the funwithdigiscrap one)

Dawn Chorus (Mini Kit)

The Studio is having their annual design contest, so as I've been tinkering around with learning to design I'd thought I'd enter as it's always good for experience, the problem being that the first week of the design contest clashed with a very busy week for me at home.

My son turned eight, so I spent most of yesterday building the lego set he'd got, then I've got my new puppy who keeps me on my feet and I've got my mum staying for a week, so my entry was a bit of a rush job, and although I'm not expecting to get through the first round it was good to have a deadline to work to, without one it can take me weeks to put anything together. I only just finished it in time, but had to stay up until 1am to finish it.

So here's my entry, the theme was daybreak, and I decided to name mine Dawn Chorus.
