Halloween.....

With Halloween just a couple of days away I have been busy busy!

I will have a total of ten children (including my two), descending on my house this Friday. What began as two friends inviting themseves over has turned into a full blown party.

It is going to be absolute mahem....but I LOVE it! I love Halloween, love to see the weans knocking on the door, and here in Scotland they don't get a thing until they have done a little song, dance or joke.

My two are so excited, and after six years of making costumes from cardboard boxes/black bags I gave in to the commercialism of it all - I actually BOUGHT their costumes for this year.

Angus is going to be a Stormtrouper, and Michael a Jedi knight, (Anakin Skywalker to be precise).

I've been buying up decorations over the last couple of weeks, stocking up on sweeties and will be having a major baking session tomorrow to make my halloween cookies, (any excuse for a baking session is good for me, I love baking).

Tonight we're getting the decorations up and carving the pumpkins - incidently I was trying to grow my own this year but they never got bigger then a golf ball, after which the slugs had a right good feast on them - so I had to buy a couple instead.

I made up a little layout with a kit I bought from Stoneaccentsudios, another forum I belong to. The kit can be found here, and is chocca block with 85 papers and 127 elements, I had great fun playing around with photoshop to make this one and will be doing more once I have pictures from the Halloween party.

Got some great news.

I can't quite believe this but Silvia, a.k.a Phillsboo of Digital Arts Cafe has asked me to be a part of her creative team.

It is such an honour and I really can't believe it, I've only been scrapping a short time.

SAS Monthly Colour Challange

I couldn't resist the colour challange over at Stoneaccentstudio's this month.

Not only were there some great colours, but the theme was Mystery and suspense, with a great starter kit based on Miss Marple, and a posting bonus kit too.

I had the perfect picture, the one of Angus fast asleep on the floor (and trust me when I say this, the boy was sound!).

The papers and elements were designed by Ambowife : Another One of Life's Mysteries.

I just loved the papers and elements; I found it really easy to create this layout and the journalling came to mind easily.

Being a Boy Kit

I thought this kit was just perfect for making up my eldest boy's first day of school layout. I thought the frame very apt, and thought it worked very well with the paper.

This is another of Phillsboo's kits; an excellent range of papers and lots of nice elements to choose from.

I made this layout for the Digital Arts Cafe font challenge in September.

Sweetest Boy of all kit

I used the "Sweetest Boy of all Kit" to make my first ever digiscrap layout. I have to confess that it was the name that first drew me towards this kit, and being new it was the first one I found that was just right for scrapping my two boys; not too manly and not too babyish.

I used quite a few of the papers in my layout, I just couldn't decide on which paper to use, so I used all the ones that I thought worked well together.

I made this layout for the Digital Arts Cafe monthly quote challange, and I thought it worked really well with a rather rare photo of my younger son smiling.

My first ever post....

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the world wide web.

I won't bore you with all my life history, though it's only polite to introduce myself; my name is Michelle and I live Scotland with my Husband, two darling wee boys of 5 and 6 and my pensioner of a cat, Clyde (he's 16).

At the moment I am a stay at home mum as my youngest will not be starting school until next August, then it will be time to return to the working population, though I have enjoyed the time off that I have spent with my boys.

I discovered digital scrapbooking quite by chance; planning on a low cost christmas this year I wanted to make everyone more personal presents this year. I purchased a scrapbooking kit in the local shop, intending to sit down with a pot of glue and a mound of photos, but when looking online for some paper I discovered a whole new world......

Digital scrapbooking meant not only would I save money, it was so versatile; I could print off the layouts myself, go to a printers and best of all I could make my own scrapbooking cd and add music.

I have only been a digi-scrapper for about a month, but once I'd discovered it, I was amazed at the skill of the designers.

The slide show I have running at the top have been made from a designer at the Digital Arts Cafe; Phillsboo made a couple of kits that were just perfect for a mother with two darling boys; I know they aren't perfect and I have a lot to learn, but that's part of the fun....
