Big Boy Adventure Quickpage

I haven't been around much lately, I've had a lot going on with regards to the boys and have made the desicion to have my eldest son officially diagnosed, although I suspect he has Aspergers, I have a long wait ahead of me to find out for sure.

He is almost seven now, and has recently been upset at playtime, he says his friends are nasty to him and won't let him play they're games, but my son has a real problem with having his own agenda, and I suspect that they don't want to play his games (all the time). Still, I've spoken to the school and the Special Educational Needs teacher that supports him in class is going to keep an eye on the situation, so, fingers crossed.

The special school he attends is going to be keeping him for the next school year too, as he still needs help with his social skills, and although I was hoping to get him into full time mainstream school I'm glad he is getting the help he needs.

So much so that I have decided to volunteer at the local Nursery and School, with a view to getting experience and getting qualifications, firstly as a classroom assistant but ultimately I would like to help children with Special Educational Needs.

Still enough waffle....

I've made another layout using Robyn's Big Boy Adventures; my husband is the biggest boy of all when it comes to fishing, he's like a big kid at christmas, gets all excited the night before a big trip, can't sleep etc etc

I mean, look at this photo...can't you just see the excitement on his face?

This has been a great kit to work with, if you have the time please do take a look at Robyn's Blog and of course her Store (http://www.shopbusyscrappin.com/?action=designer&id=08)

Robyn's Chic Scraps Big Boy Adventure

I have some good news, I am now a member of Robyn's Chic Scraps Creative Team, I was asked to join and just couldn't say no.

So, here is my first layout, for this one I used Robyn's Big Boy Adventure Kit which can be purchased for just $3.50. This is really a great kit for the men (or boys) in your life, I've tried to use quite a few of the elements in this layout to show you - don't you just love the Caterpillar?

Here is a preview of what you get in the kit - and trust me, there are some great papers in here to compliment the elements;

More layouts and a QP (Kayjay's Lucky Day kit)

I'm feeling a lot better and have been busy making a few layouts today, and I have a quick page to offer you to.

The first layout is one of my older son, I just love doing close up layouts but they aren't very practical for making a quick page which is the reason I ended up making another one.

The next layout is the one I made into a quick page for you, I have to confess to you that I cheated for this one and used a template, but I really liked it and couldn't help myself.

I used a template designed by Veronica Spriggs to make this layout of my two little darlings, and a lovely poem that I found over at Scrapbooking.com. I had to change the poem slightly though as it is the youngest one who is protective of his older brother and not the other way around, but I think it still reads well.

The next layout has nothing at all to do with Kayjay's Luckyday kit.....should really be in a separate post but never mind, I'm here now.

I have made this one for Mother's day, which is on Sunday 22nd here in the UK, as soon as I've finished typing up this blog I will be sending this picture over to Kodak and getting this made into a stretched canvas picture - hopefully my Mum will receive it in time for Mothering Sunday.

I used Veronica Spriggs template again to make this one, though I had to stretch and change things a little as the size of the canvas is 16x12 inch.

I also found a lovely poem to use, and I know she'll love it.

And finally.....the quick page.

If you have read through this entire blog post, thank you and enjoy your download.

New Kit from Kayjay - LuckyDay

Kayjay has just released a brand new kit - It's called Lucky Day and can be found over at Digital Arts Cafe for just $2.99

It has some lovely elements and great papers, I especially love the dotty one.

Here is a preview for you;

I've had a bit of a bad week and probably shouldn't have really made a layout until I'd given myself a boot up the backside and stopped feeling so sorry for myself.

I discovered this poem/story written by Emily Perl Kingsley when on a parenting course and wanted to put it into a scrapbook page as it means a lot to me.

Whilst trying to make another layout this little story was always at the back of my mind so I thought I would incorporate it into a layout.

My son was assessed with Autistic Spectrum disorder when he was just three; he has social, language and communication delays, attends a special school four afternoons a week and is really coming on in leaps and bounds.

Usually I can cope with anything but I've got myself all wound up because he didn't get a sticker at his Hip-Hop dancing lesson the other night like his brother did - and when he got home he was sobbing his little heart out - and I just couldn't get him to understand that the dance teacher was given his brother a sticker to encourage him to keep going to dancing.

His younger brother hasn't been assessed as being on the spectrum, though I think he should be, he has the same delays with social, language and communication but has a better level of understanding.

Each day I count myself lucky for having two such special boys, they are happy, loving and I am so proud of every milestone and achievement they reach.
