Day Five - Chase the WInter Blues away Blog Train

Today is the final day of the Digital Arts Cafe Blog Train: Chase the Winter Blues away and I have two more quick pages for you.

The first is from Karyn, a designer at DAC and I have called this layout Sunday Drive, I just loved the Sun element;

The next layout is of my son doing his Nursery obstacle course to raise money for a white interactive board, and the kit used is from another designer at Digital Arts Cafe, Adelina;

Day Four - Chase the Winter Blues away Blog Train

It's been really nice here the last few days, I've been out in the garden, dug out a pond, lined in and put some water in it - enough for a little Robin to have his morning bath.

And I can't believe I am saying this, but I am actually wishing we had some rain - only enough to fill it to the brim as I used all the water from the butt and don't really want to fill it with tap water.

The next layout I have for you is from a new designer: Designsbypebbles, I thought this was a great little kit, I just loved all the chunky frames and the flowers;

For the next layout I used LJD's contribution to the blog train, I just loved the frames...

Day Three - Chase the WInter Blues away Blog Train

Well, it's day three already, (where does the time go?) and I've got a couple more quick pages for you;

The first one I made a layout out using Nydias Scraps Vivid Page Kit, I loved the colours in this kit though I may have got just a little carried away....

For the second page I used Kayjay's Byebyewinter, with a nice picture of my Mum and the two boys all cuddled up together after a play at the local park.

Day Two - Chase the WInter Blues away Blog Train

I have a couple more quick pages for you today;

The first is made using Scrappy Shannon's Winter Blues kit and yes, I had a play around with the old extract tool in photoshop and was quite pleased with the results.

My boys just love climbing, I don't mind so much at the park, it's when they decide to climb the furniture in the house, not to mention using the beds as trampolines....

The Second one I made was using LilyskyDesigns, I just loved all the elements in this kit and found it easy to create a layout.

This picture was taken when we were moving house a few years back...

Remember to drop by again tomorrow for a couple more pages, and if you have the time please do visit the designers blogs and give them some love.

Day One - Chase the WInter Blues away Blog Train

The Digital Arts Cafe Community are having another Blog Train (seeing as we all had so much fun with the last one at Christmas), and is very aptly named - Chase the Winter Blues away.

We still have dark nights, wet and windy weather and not to mention snow and icy roads here in Scotland at the moment.

So to cheer you up a multitude of designers have joined the train - I've placed a list of participating blogs on the right hand side so you can visit at your leisure - there really are some great kits avaliable for download.

I've made a couple of layouts already which I have made avaliable as quick pages, and I will be posting more over the next five days, so do keep an eye on funwithdigiscrap.

All quick pages are 12x12/300dpi and are for personal use.

So, without further ado, these are the layouts I made;

The first from Leah's Spring Blooms - I just loved the string frame - I'm trying to sort out my garden at the minute and have scraps of papers with notes and clipping from papers with offers all over the place so I couldn't resist putting my wee man on the clipboard!

My next layout was from Clikpic's Spring dreaming, I love the colours she's used to design this kit, it's just so bright and cheerful and then I thought about how much my boys love the spring, and most especially of all splashing in puddles....

I've been challenged.....

I have been challenged by Kayjay of Kayjaysdaysproject365....

Here are the rules to follow;

Go to your photo folder in your computer.
Go to the 6th folder of the photos.
Go to the sixth picture.
Put the picture on your blog and description of it.
Invite six friends to join the challenge.

Here is my photo;

It was taken in the Secret Forest at Kelburn Country Park, the place was HUGE, and the Secret Forest had mazes, an assault course, great walks and a massive Waterfall. It really was a magical day out which ended with the boys having a Pony ride.

Here are the friends I am inviting to this challenge;

Brotherly Love freebie quick page

A while back I signed up for a Digi-design course and have to say that I have learnt so much. Completely inspired I decided to design a kit for Valentines day, though I have to say that it is much harder then I thought, and at the rate I'm going I'll be lucky if it will be ready for NEXT Valentines day!

I just can't seem to decide what to put into it, so needless to say I haven't got very far.

Still, I wanted to give you a freebie of sorts and decided to do a quickpage using some of the paper and elements I had designed so far.

And here it is.....just click on the preview to begin your download, and in the meantime I think I had better get started on this years Christmas kit (which gives me about 10 months to get it together!)

Together Forever

I've made another layout using Tirza's Treasures "Love always". I've used another photograph from my parents wedding day for this layout as the name of the kit is very apt.

I love the frame I used in this layout, though trying to get it to "stand up" kept me busy for ages and I'm still not too sure I've got the angles right.

My parents had fifteen years of mariage together and were very much in love, sadly my Dad had been ill most of his life and died when I was quite young.

I know that my Mum is still very much in love him, tears still come to her eyes when she thinks about him, I thought the wording on this was perfect, for despite the fact he is not with us physically, he is still very much a part of our lives and continues to live on in all our hearts.

I hope that makes sense, it's difficult to write what I am trying to say.

Anyway, I made a quick page for you, please feel free to download it, and if you have the time please do visit Tirza's blog or store.

Love is...A New Beginning

I decided to make another layout using my favourite photograph of my Mum and Dad's wedding day using Kayjay's Love is in the Air kit.

I just love all the colours in this kit and may have gone OTT with Pink but thought it worked quite well with the black and white photograph.

I tried to make this one simple and uncluttered, I just loved the pink letters and had to use them twice!

Anyway, just click on the preview below to begin your download and please do take the time to visit Kayjay's store as there really are some gorgeous kits in there at the moment.

Love Always

I have made another quick page for you, this time using Tirza's Love Always Kit that can be found over at Scrapping out loud.

The kit has some beautiful papers and gorgeous elements, the colours all blend perfectly together and you really are spoilt for choice with all the brads, flowers and frames in this kit;

I've made a couple of pages using the beautiful pink papers; the first I tried to go for an uncluttered look as I have a habit of trying to use all the elements every time I get a new kit to work with...the second I tried to use as much as possible around the frame cluster.

And finally the quick page, I decided to use the uncluttered layout for the quick page as there is more room for journalling on this one, so I hope you like it. (Just click the preview to start your download)

Love is in the Air.....

With Valentine just around the corner I couldn't resist making a quick page for you, the first is from a kit called Love is in the Air by Digital Art Cafe's Kayjay

It's a great kit by one of my favourite designers and I can't quite believe that she accepted me on her Creative Team; there I was yesterday browsing through all the CT calls and telling myself that I wasn't going to apply for anymore as I have been busy learning to design myself, and then I saw her CT call and couldn't send off the email quick enough!

Anyway, back to the point, here is a copy of her preview;

Here are a couple of pages I've made;

And
finally...(Drumroll please)...my first quick page of the year!
I've actually made three of these quickpages as it occurred to me that not everyone could use the split frame, so, there's one as is, one with a pink frame and one with a blue and I've put them all in separate downloads so you can choose which one you need.
